Heritage , Gender Equity and Land Imbizo

Event Details

September marks a celebration and commemoration of South Africa’s Heritage in both physical and nonphysical forms, this inevitably leads to a conversation about culture which brings to question the issue of Gender in a context of South Africa’s historical development – a discourse that is often ignored and one that most people, even leaders shy away from. In following this discourse one is bound to come across the overwhelming question of land as it represents an important cultural resource and is a relevant topic given the South Africa’s recent interest and  conversation around amending the constitution in favor of land redistribution.
