The Promotion of Access to Information Imbizo was a success, young people of Schwaizer-Reneke and around were gathered under one roof and held a productive Imbizo. They had different government and no-government stakeholders, including Brand South Africa, NYDA, ACTIVATE! Change Drivers, Dedect, Government Communications and the Deputy Minister In Presidency.

1. Young people assembly of thoughts

Mamusa Local Municipality mayor Gotsilethebe Batsi introduced and welcomed Hon Deputy Minister, Thembi Siweya. Young people were gathered in one roof to address issues  that affect them as youth- especially in the entrepreneurial sector, they were positive and they came in numbers so that they could register their thoughts.

We have a good story to tell about the young people of North West Province, especially the ones  who have brilliant ideas that will drive our economy in the right direction. They are passionate about what they do. Some of them are National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) beneficiaries because not all young people need to be job seekers, others need to be the job creators to address the triple challenges in  our country-  which are poverty, unemployment and inequality. The youth is willing to work with  the government hand in hand and establish good working relationships, they didn’t complain much but asked relevant question.

2. Imbizo overview

The Deputy Minister in presidency was ecstatic about being in the North West, among such vibrant young leaders. Her office had never done a program in the North West before. “In the presidency me and Minister Jackson Mthembu we have many responsibility to politically provide political oversight on this unity with Brand SA” said Hon Deputy Minister Thembi Siweya.

Hon Thembi Siweya is committed to organizing  more of these types of  programs the rural areas and townships. The presentation was productive and beneficial to the young people. She addressed issues that affect the youth  and gave hope to the young people of Mamusa and around the North West Province who create ways to be part of the  youth that is committed to driving changes in their various communities.

The Deputy Minister is the hope of the hopeless young people of Mamusa- and South Africa in general- because of  the initiatives that she organizes for young people and her endeavor to bring parliament to youth so that young people may have hope in the government again.

The stakeholders who were at the Imbizo paved the way for young people, by equipping young people  with information that will show them where to go. “Right to access to information” said Mrs Lerato Legodi (Brand SA), she hopes that information sharing will be productive to the young people.
